Remember when MTV played good music?
Back when I was in 5th grade there were good mainstream hits all year long on MTV:
M.O.P. – Ante Up
M.O.P. – Cold As Ice
Mos Def, Nate Dogg, and Pharoahe Monch – Oh No
The Beatnuts – No Escapin This
Xzibit – X
Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek – The Blast
Big Pun – How We Roll (2000 version)
DMX – Party Up (was a hit in the summer before 5th grade)
Busta Rhymes – Fire (was a hit in the summer before 5th grade)
Wu-Tang Clan – Gravel Pit
Anyone else remember this? Some of these videos were even on BET.
Yo MTV raps was way before my time. This stuff I’m talking about came out around 2000-2001 when I was 11 years old. That was the first year I really started listening to rap all the time.
I’m 19, I’ll be 20 in three months.
they evn had more good songs then tht, nd they use to actually play music alot
but ante up is prob my fav song in ur list, cuz tht is just hood, and u can jsut bump it
Nate Dogg – Music and me
