Why do ear plugs make my ears ring?
Is it normal for my ears to ring (tinnitus) when I wear ear plugs? Is it maybe the cheap plugs I use (CVS disposable foam)? Basically, I need to know if this is relatively normal or if I should have my hearing checked out by a doctor. I don’t wear ear buds or play music too loudly, so I’m hoping it isn’t actual hearing damage.
Most people, when sitting in a sound proof room in absolute silence, will report tinnitus, as there are no environmental sounds to mask their “internal” noises. It could be that wearing the ear plugs could be having the same effect
